Since parents are allowed tax exemptions for each dependent child, I think people should also be allowed tax exemptions for pets. After all, they’re “dependent,” too!

Here’s my proposed tax deduction breakdown per pet:

Dog: $2,000

Cat: $1,500

Rabbit: $500

Snake: $250

Lizard:  $150

Hamster/gerbil: $50

Fish: $10

Ant farm: 10 cents per ant
